Last night I got back from an amazing week of running across Colorado (you can read previous posts about it here). Twenty-four of us ran in relays across the state for about seven days soaking in the sun, peeing on the side of roads, and eating unspeakable amounts of energy bars and junk food. We ran for a cause — raising money for Burmese refugees in Thailand, who are enduring decades of civil war and ethnic cleansing. The money was put towards their food and education.
For me, it was the perfect way to end the summer before starting real adult life. I made a lot of unexpected deep friendships, was restored, and felt more prepared to move away from home.
Here is a spread in my journal I used to write down quick events from each day. The route we took changed a bit from what’s here, but we still finished all the mileage — over 350 miles as a team!
