I am SO looking forward to the end of the week! I’m getting my stitches out (which means my first standing shower in 3 weeks!), going to this super cool conference about South Asians and social justice, then celebrating my 23rd birthday (free cupcakes anyone?!!?)
In the meantime, I’m going to try harder to stick with the workouts and prayer this week. It wasn’t something I focused on last week.
Something else is that today is MLK Jr. Day — a day to remember the achievements of one of the greatest leaders in human rights. It can be tempting to sleep in or take hold of a free day off, but I hope everyone gets a chance to reflect, listen to one of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches, or make action steps to continue the fight for equal rights! Here is a talk that was given today at my school by Nontombi Naomi Tutu, race and gender activist and daughter of Desmond Tutu.
