This summer, I’m doing something that completely FREAKS me out: an 11-day relay across Colorado. I’m going with an organization called Venture and our goal is to have each person on the team raise $2000+ for refugees in Thailand and Myanmar. These are people who, sadly, have been displaced from their homes by the longest-running civil war in the world. The organization works with local governments and people to provide basic human needs like meals. They also provide church programs for the people there. The page in my journal below is a visual to keep me motivated with physical training and fundraising.
I’m excited because this trip involves running three 5-7 runs per day with complete strangers. That’s also extremely terrifying. But what’s most important is that it’s more than clicking a “like”, raising awareness, or writing letters. It involves real physical pain and sacrifice, which I know will teach our team something important.
